External API

HTTP keys so another system can create work in your organization.

What it is

The external API lets an ERP, a CMMS, or a system you run create cases and tasks in TaskShot. Access is a key that belongs to the organization, not to a person's password.

Where to find it

Settings, then External API, when the feature is on. The page shows the API base URL and the keys.

How it works

Create a key and give it a name. The name is what TaskShot shows as the creator on cases and tasks that key creates. The secret is shown once. Copy it then. A key can be revoked later. A revoked key stops working.

If the base URL is empty, the endpoint is not configured for that environment yet. Ask TaskShot before building against it.

Good to know

The API is on every plan. The owner turns it on or off under Billing. This page does not list the endpoints. Use the base URL from Settings, and treat the secret like a password.
