Folders

Folders group cases by the kind of work, the client, or the site.

What it is

A folder is the everyday way to stop a flat list of cases. One folder per kind of work, one case per job inside it.

Where to find it

On Cases, when you create or edit a case, and when you create a folder from the case list.

How it works

Name the folder for a category you actually use: bodywork, a client, a site, warranty, or a type of inspection. Pick that folder when you create the case. A folder can be renamed later.

Deleting a folder does not delete its cases. They move to Unorganized, with no parent folder.

A case data template can be the default on a folder, so new cases there start with the same extra fields. A knowledge-base PDF attached to a folder shows on every case inside it.

Good to know

Projects are a separate layer for a larger program. Most teams start with folders only. See Projects.
