Technical inspection
A mobile capture flow for inspection stations. Photos are smaller, timestamped, and synced to a folder on the station PC.
What it is
Technical inspection is a separate capture flow for a station that has to get photos off the phone and into a folder on a Windows PC. It is not the everyday case camera.
Where to find it
The phone uses the inspection capture flow. The station PC uses TaskShot Desktop. Photo size, timestamp, and which desktop folders receive files are set for the organization when the feature is on.
How it works
On the phone, each inspection photo is kept to a maximum width, height, and JPEG quality, so the files stay small enough for the station. The device's local date and time can be burned into the photo at capture. That stamp can be date only or include the time, down to the minute or the second, and it can sit in any corner.
On the PC, install TaskShot Desktop and choose the local folder once. New inspection photos sync into that folder. The PC can notify you when a batch has been saved.
Plate and ID text can be read with OCR, and documents can be uploaded with the same organization tools as other work.
Good to know
Technical inspection is on every plan. The owner turns it on or off under Billing. The folder on the PC is the handoff to the station's own system. TaskShot does not replace that system.
