OCR

Read text from a photo, such as a plate or an ID, instead of typing it.

What it is

OCR reads text that is already in a photo. The usual use is a plate number or an identifier that should become the case name or a case-data field.

Where to find it

In the mobile app, on a case, when the feature is on. A case-data field can be marked for OCR so the read value has a place to go. It can also be started from the web with a QR handoff to the phone.

How it works

Take the photo of the text. TaskShot reads it into the field you are filling, so the name is not typed on site.

Good to know

OCR is on every plan. The owner turns it on or off under Billing. It reads what the camera sees. A blurry plate still needs a person to check the result.
